How We Play The Game
Set Up Rules Applicable to ALL age groups:
Rules to be called for U7
- NO scores are kept. Why do we not keep scores? In keeping with the spirit of creating a fun, healthy environment & to foster development in our younger players we felt keeping scores created an unnecessary sense of competition for our younger teams.
- Tournament rosters are to be used at each game
- Coaches are to set up 2 flags and provide 1 goal
- Ref Fee is $15 per team at each game.
- Coach & Assistant MUST have a Grass Roots waiver and actively working on their 4v4 Grass Roots license.
- Coaches & Asst. Coaches are expected to show respect for the laws of the game and demonstrate good sportsmanship towards players, referees, other coaches and parents.
- NO ROSTER, NOT ON ROSTER…. NO PLAY – no need to explain this
- Home team wears dark - If a conflict arises, home team changes.
- Jerseys, T -shirts and Pennies: teams may play in any of these as long as they are of the same color. Numbers are not required.
- Home team provides the game ball.
- Sidelines: Coach/Team and Parents on one side. Opposing team on the other sideline. Home team chooses side.
- Parent/Sidelines should show respect for the laws of the game and demonstrate good sportsmanship towards players, referees, other coaches and parents.
- NO Earrings are allowed.
- Referees in the Academy will mostly be new or younger persons. Please remember to treat them with respect. They will make mistakes and not make every call to your satisfaction. There is only 1 referee on the field and missed calls will be made or not made. It happens at all levels of play.
- Email any issues at cawerob@msn.com
- Wendy Roberts: 801-564-2559 text me – I will either call you back or at least text you back.

Know Before You Go...Game Cancellations
- All games are to be played regardless of weather. Decisions to close fields or not play will typically occur at 3:00pm.
- If the league does not cancel the game by 3:00pm you are scheduled to play. Referees will show and expect to be paid for a game. If at game time the conditions are bad, a referee will make the call. All the games cancelled by the league will be rescheduled by the league. Both coaches will be contacted in a group email/text to work out a new date.
- Any game cancellations prior to 3pm will be sent out via text message to coaches.
- Any weather cancellations after 3pm will be made at the field.
- Just because a state U9-19 game field has been closed, does not mean the Academy games have been cancelled.
- Use Weather Bug Sparks app in conjunction with the referee on the field to determine playability.
- Lightning within 10 miles warrants removal to a safe location until the lightning passes.
